A number of properties in Whelford, Gloucestershire, have been evacuated following a major incident being declared. Counter terror police are leading the investigation near RAF Fairford, the PA news agency understands.
Several men have been arrested on suspicion of offences under the Explosives Act. A specialist ordnance disposal team has been at the scene.
