Fighting in Yemen’s Taiz province has forced more than 86,000 people from their homes since fresh clashes erupted with Houthi forces in the western countryside. Taiz city, under blockade since 2015 with only one route linking it to southern governorates, is absorbing the bulk of the displaced despite scarce resources. Many families, mostly women, children and the elderly, have been uprooted repeatedly, prompting appeals for urgent international humanitarian intervention.
