A previously unreleased U.S. Army study reveals the power of electric shock gloves that ICE is preparing to deploy, finding that the device causes such “intense pain” and fear that the mere sight of it can force compliance. Despite being aware of these findings, the federal government signed a $16.7 million contract for 6,000 pairs of the gloves, drawing alarm from watchdog groups who call them a tool to “brutalize people.”
