The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has set up 179 communal ovens across Gaza to help sustain food supplies amid widespread displacement and destroyed infrastructure. Between January and June, the ovens produced 9.2 million loaves of bread, feeding more than 44,000 people. The initiative also provides Palestinian women with a modest income of around 25 dollars a day, offering many families their only source of livelihood as unemployment rises across the territory.
