Republicans are playing defence in states they aren’t used to defending. President Donald Trump on Tuesday is travelling all the way to Alaska on Tuesday to try to boost the Republican Senate candidate there. Vice President JD Vance is going to Texas, as Republicans there are in danger. Kansas, Nebraska, and Iowa are all in play for the Democrats who are trying to flip the Senate. Trump won all of those states by double digits in 2024. And on Monday, President Trump went back to Ohio for the second time in under a week, trying to shore up Senator Jon Husted’s re-election bid against Democrat Sherrod Brown.
