US President Donald Trump has hosted a state dinner for Chinese President Xi Jinping at the White House.
The rare and lavish event is part of Xi’s first state visit to the United States in more than a decade.
But behind the ceremony, Trump and Xi are confronting some of the most consequential disputes between the world’s two largest economies, from trade and Taiwan to technology and global security.
