The BBC has identified 254 incidents in which the Israeli military has been accused of killing or injuring people that it said it was investigating but have had no public outcome.

BBC Verify analysed incidents in Gaza, Lebanon, the occupied West Bank and Israel in which the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) faced allegations of harm since the start of the Gaza war, which was triggered by the Hamas-led attacks on 7 October 2023.

We approached the IDF multiple times but only received information on two incidents. It said that it took “every allegation or report raising concerns about conduct” seriously.
