Five men have been arrested near RAF Fairford, a UK base used by US forces in strikes against Iran, over an alleged plot involving explosives.
Donald Trump says US and British authorities had been tracking the suspects and that they were looking to cause “big damage”.
Prime Minister Andy Burnham has been briefed on the investigation and says public safety is the government’s top priority, as questions grow over a possible Iranian link and security around US bases in Britain.
