Tens of thousands of civil servants have taken part in more than a hundred protests across France.
Teachers, firefighters and healthcare workers participated in a nationwide strike.
They demanded higher salaries and improved working conditions.
Protesters are also unhappy with planned budget cuts ahead of next year’s presidential election.
The industrial action comes just days before the government unveils its draft budget.
