Anti-migrant protests have erupted in South Africa after a Constitutional Court ruling on asylum procedures came into effect.

At least 24 vehicles were set on fire across two cities, while businesses owned by foreign nationals were looted.

Protesters oppose the July ruling, which removes significant procedural barriers to asylum applications.

Al Jazeera’s Clement Manyathela reports from South Africa.
