Qatar is shifting its investment strategy towards domestic development, with $38 billion planned for infrastructure projects over the next five years.
Speaking at the Qatar Economic Forum in New York, Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani stressed the importance of diplomacy and respect for regional sovereignty in achieving lasting security.
The announcement comes as world leaders gather in New York for the United Nations General Assembly, where Gulf leaders are expected to hold a series of high-level diplomatic meetings. The Qatari prime minister is also scheduled to meet with US President Donald Trump.
