Massive floods and landslides swept through border towns and villages in Nepal and Tibet a month ago, wiping out thousands of houses and destroying energy infrastructure.
Since then, 1,400 people are known to have died, thousands are still missing and many are displaced.
Scientists say the floods were caused by a collapse of rock wall and glacier ice near the peak of Langtang Lirung, a mountain on Nepal’s side of the Himalayas.
