A mass shooting near the South African city of Durban has left 11 people dead. Police say the motive for the attack – which saw gunmen storm a house party in KwaMakhutha township – is still unclear. The acting police chief said she had launched a manhunt to bring the killers to justice. South Africa has one of the world’s highest murder rates, often fuelled by gang rivalries. President Cyril Ramaphosa has called rampant crime a major threat.
