The aftermath of a Houthi missile attack on Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport has raised fresh concerns over regional security, with injured civilians receiving treatment and several airlines suspending flights.
Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh, visited those injured in the attack, praising their resilience. In Amman, the funeral of Jordanian victim Mahmoud Al Barqawi was held as the disruption to regional air travel continued, with Gulf Air and Etihad among the airlines suspending services.
Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman said the attacks had tested the kingdom’s resilience but would not derail its Vision 2030 development programme.
Meanwhile, Yemen’s Houthi rebels released footage of military operations in Marib and warned of a “painful response” if the United States intervenes further in the Yemen war.
The developments highlight growing tensions surrounding the Yemen conflict and the potential consequences for regional security, civilian safety and international travel.
