Brazil’s final debate was calmer but may not sway undecided voters ahead of runoff: live report

Brazil’s second and final presidential debate focused more on issues and was less of a spectacle than the first, which Al Jazeera’s Lucia Newman says was highly criticised.

She says President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and Flávio Bolsonaro focused on issues for at least an hour and a half before trading insults and accusations of lying and corruption.

Newman says it is unlikely to change undecided minds or bring back the more than 33 million who did not vote in the first round. The race is so tight, she says, that it is impossible to say if it turned the tide.

Al Jazeera’s Lucia Newman reports from Brasília.
