More than 1.2 million Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh are facing pressure from a UN funding crisis and shrinking aid budgets, with concerns over food and malnutrition in the camps. The refugees are sheltering in Cox’s Bazar, home to the world’s largest refugee settlement, after fleeing violence in Myanmar. The UN is seeking around $710m for 2026 and has so far received 60 percent of the funding. The report says a funding shortfall by November could lead to more ration reductions and cuts to essential services in the camps.
