Snap, formerly known as Snapchat, spun off Specs, the division responsible for its augmented reality (AR) glasses, early this year, and now it’s ready to take pre-orders for the upcoming product, which is also called Specs, just to be confusing.
These are $2,195 standalone AR glasses that don’t require a phone or computer connection to work. They have a see-through transparent display with a 51-degree field of view which apparently looks as big as a 115″ screen would when viewed from about 10 feet away, a camera indicator light, “dual Snapdragon processors”, and a magnetic 5-pin charging…
