Lebanon faces uncertainty as UNIFIL mandate nears end

As UN peacekeeping forces prepare to withdraw from Lebanon, Israel remains present and Hezbollah is still armed. A new EU support mission aims to strengthen Lebanon’s army, but will not replace UN peacekeepers.
