Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot has claimed that Israeli settlers targeted Belgium’s consul general, French and Polish diplomats and Catholic representatives in the village of Taybeh in the West Bank.
Israel’s foreign minister said a police investigation had been opened, but it was ‘unfortunate that the visit was not coordinated with the IDF’.
US Ambassador Mike Huckabee also condemned the violence as ‘a despicable act of terror carried out by masked cowards’ after an American photographer was injured in a different attack in the village of Abu Falah.
