Responding to a voter concerned about the national debt, which topped $40 trillion in August, Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico called it a “moral emergency.”
He suggested the deficit can be reduced by “closing the billionaire tax loopholes,” citing President Donald Trump’s “Big, Beautiful, Bill” and ending the “disastrous war in Iran.”
