The aurora borealis is a natural phenomenon in the Earth’s sky, driven by solar activity and geomagnetic storms interacting with the upper atmosphere.
These magical marvels were also captured across the UK – in Dorset, Kent and Northumberland. The Met Office has said sightings in Scotland will remain possible until Tuesday.
