A total of 781 people successfully crossed the English Channel yesterday in 10 small boats.
It is the highest number of people making the journey in a single day so far this year – but overall, small boat crossings are down this year.
A total of 18,565 migrants have arrived in the UK after crossing the Channel in small boats so far this year, including 6,096 since Andy Burnham became prime minister in July.
The total so far for 2026 is down around 45% on the same point last year.
